Blonde & Curvy Diary #2 – Jeans Edition

Hi Guys and Welcome for a New Blonde and Curvy Diary

Today let’s talk about Jeans because you may all know that my favorite combo is a nice pair of boyfriend jeans, a comfy top and a pair of slip on vans. I love to be chic and simple but when you are a curvy Lady it can be tricky.

Jeans are like bra, you need to find your perfect match which can be the worst thing in the world. Let’s face it some girls out there are wearing jeans that doesn’t fit them so be brave ladies, go out and try out different shape of Jeans. It is not impossible it is just a pain in the A**.

Here in the Uk there is many place to name a few that I adore for jeans you have Mark and Spencer, Dorothy Perkins or Gap. It is not that hard to rock a good pair of jeans when you are curvy so don’t be ashamed because you will find the perfect fit.

The main problem that (us curvy girls) we have with jeans or trousers in general is the long lasting because truth to be told I don’t keep them for long because usually as my thighs are in contact permanently well it creates friction and the fabric end up with endless holes. It’s a shame I know but like any other problems there is solutions and I am here to tell you that you don’t need to feel guilty at all.

I always worn jeans as far as I can remember and it is the piece of clothe in which I feel the most comfortable wearing. In France back in the days it was really hard to find sizes because when you are curvy well it is kind of not acceptable so you end up wearing cheap and ugly jeans because you don’t have the choice.

Now that I am in London I have discovered a new world full of many possibilities and I have learned that it is ok the be a size 20 because yup they have it in store.

Mark and Spencer

Most of my jeans comes from M&S. The reason is the wide range, price and cut. I love them so much that from time to time I buy twice the same jeans to make sure I have a back up. But overall it is so easy to find a good cut there without breaking the bank.

A lot of people, even english believe that M&S is a place for old ladies. Well it is, I am not going to lie but since I moved to London they have improved and their Indigo collection which is more “young Girls” oriented is always stunning seasons after seasons.

So don’t be shy, push the door and give it a go you will not be disapointed. Besides, usually M&S are huge so if you feel ashamed of your body or anything nobody will be there to judge you so silver linings!

Not to mention that they go up to size 24 in some of their jeans.

Dorothy Perkins

That brand was for me a big no no for so many years because for me it was just a place to get average dress for wedding or dinner party but recently my mind changed and for 2 reasons.

Reason one (and a half) prices and wide range. Especially if you go online you will see online exclusive and some type of jeans that they don’t have in store. To be fair I kind of think that stores here in London are overwhelming, too many products everywhere!

Reason 2 is the quality, I have a crop jeans that I bought 3 years ago that I still use. Pretty, wash well and very flattering so I give Dorothy Perkins a big high five for that.

In store, don’t even think about it you are not in the US. I you are lucky you will maybe find a jumper in size XL if it is not dirty or stained.

Online it is a different story and it is my Husband that had pointed me that out. They go up to size 35 which is a 24 and it is amazing. The downside is that as they don’t have any in store you can’t try them to see if they fit but the return policy is quite easy and free so I know it’s annoying but trust me there is worst companies.

The other downside is the price, it can easily become a bit pricy but the quality of the denim is amazing and very thick so you won’t go through it like a M&S jeans for example.

Ladies what more can I say just be open minded, bold and not ashamed. You are the way that you are and unless you have a magic wand, nothing will change that in the second so work with what you have and make sure that the shape is flattering and that it fit in your budget.

Just please forget places like primark, select or h&m because yes they stock sizes but even if the size is big well the cut is not for you plus your jeans will not last and at the end you will spend more money so try to think about it.

Again I am not perfect, I am just trying to love my body and take advantage of what I have right now. It is all about being in the “now” not in the “what if” or “I used to”, no. Those are my Jeans tricks and secrets so take it or leave it but please next time you go to try out some jeans and look at yourself in the mirror think about me, don’t be negative about you. Just be yourself and everything will be fine.

Have an amazing day Ladies (or gents, if there is any)
