Cargo Tinted Moisturizer┃Review

Cargo | Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

Let me start that blog post on a very positive note by saying that I was wrong. For a long time I was not feeling at all the tinted moisturizer vibe and didn’t understand the hype around that kind of product and I was so wrong.  Cargo is a brand I have never tried before, I heard of course about it but never had the chance to try something in the past. Tk Maxx gave me the opportunity to put the brand and that type of beauty product to the test and let me say that I am very surprised.

Formula and Packaging

Packing is very cute, professional and luxurious. I have done my research and the original price (That product is still on the Cargo website, yup !) is 36$ so you can feel it by just touching the box. The product is very simple and so neat I love a simple and grown up packaging and you can see the color through the squeeze tube so it is very convenient.

The color I have is Ivory and it is matching my skin perfectly. It give me a glow and it is so easy to apply, you just need your finger tips ! What a piece of cake. The formula is very liquid but not slippery plus you can build it up to give your skin a decident amount of coverage. It is a moisturizer so it is of course not the same as a foundation but when you swatch it or look at it well it’s hard to tell. It last all day and it is not sticky at all. I did powder my face for a more matte result.

Swatch and Final Thoughts

On my skin as you can see it look so natural and glowy. It give your skin the best amount of moisture that you need and that luminous “feel good” sensation. In other words I look tan and very healthy and it is what summer is all about for me.

I give that product a 10/10 without any further comment. I love everything in that product and now during summer it is going to be my go to “foundation” for sure. Not to mention that it last all day without any touch up, of course you need to powder after few hours because some of you might prefer to get a matte finish.

Nars Albatross | Review

NARS  | Albatross Highlighter  | £23

That Highlighter is something everybody is talking about and to be fair if you know me I don’t like to be a sheep and follow trend. Usually I like to try things months and sometimes years after all the fuss, yeah I know I am weird but the more people are talking about a product the more I feel not interested by that same product.

So now that the Nars Albatross trend is gone (well almost, not totally!) well it is time for me to try it and put it to the Allie’s test !

1. Packaging

This is my first Nars product (no it’s a lie, got an eyeshadow a week before that but let’s ignore that fact) so I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed. I am a big fan of pretty and heavy packaging like the one from Too Faced or Benefit but let’s face it a very nice and elegant one like the Nars one are just a pleasure to feel and look at. I love also the big mirror inside ! The only downside is the texture of the compact, it catch all the glitter or powder if you put it in your make up bag so my advice : keep it in the box !

2. Formula

Like nothing I tried before. I love the fact that it is not BOOM in your face. It is way more discreet and elegant than any of my highlighter. It is not powdery and a dream to blend. It is very pigmented so beware, a quick swatch on your upper bone and that is about it. It is also long lasting, when I work during 8hours I don’t even need to touch up and even at the end of the day when I remove my make up well it is still there.

3. Price and Overall impression

I got it for almost two weeks now and I can’t even think about getting back to my old highlighter. No joke ! The price is £23, I know but the size is huge and you use such a little amount per application so trust me Albatross will be in your life for a long time.

It is not for every skin tone, let’s face it ! I would recommend it for skin like mine (light) to a really normal to medium skin tone at the most. On dark skin that would look ridiculous and very powdery so beware ladies. It is also a great color to highlight your brow bone and to blend in the inter corner of your eyes.

So £23 is an investment but worth it for the Nars Albatross. My Note is a 10/10 withtout any arguments, I am very pleased and it looks so beautiful which is let’s be real is the first thing we (girls) look at!

Peachy Coral Mermaid Look | Nars & L’Oréal

Lately I am going on the discovery road, I love to play with make up and think out of the box and step very far from my comfort zone. Usually I am a bronze – brown color person so let me tell you that those colors are just not my typical color but summer tend to push me on the not so safe road so why not plus the result is just beautiful.

Stay tuned for a tutorial on my youtube channel if you want to see this eyeshadows in action.

Nars | Grenadine

This color is a love at first sight. Before that product I wasn’t familiar at all with Nars products and so far so good I am loving it. I got that eyeshadow at a bargain price in Tk Maxx and I am really happy with the quality.

Unfortunately Nars is not doing anymore that color so I am really sorry if you like the color but you can try your luck on amazon or eBay.

So the texture is really smooth and very pigmented so when you apply it you have to be light handed but once you have tamed that shadow you can do wonders. I mainly use it in my crease and blend it like crazy until I get that coral pink coral because you don’t blend it well you can easily look like you have done your make up in the dark. To balance the rich pigmentation I apply a very light and highlighting color under my eyebrow.

L’Oéal Lumière Mono Eyeshadow | Pin up Pink

My first thought when I saw that eyeshadow was “mermaid tail” and then I had that make up look in my head and I had t run back home to film a video.

The lumière mono eyeshadows collection from L’Oréal is just amazing. I own another color already and I have nothing negative to say about it. I can even say that the pigmentation and color could easily be a MAC quality product. The beauty of that product is the price of course and the fact that you don’t need to run into an expensive shop and speak to a sale assistant. It is drugstore baby!

The color is a peachy pink metalic with a lovely rose gold undertone and I love the fact that you can use dry or wet. Wet is gorgeous I have to take a picture at some point (I will post one on instagram) because it is stunning. It is not chalky or powdery and best of all : it last all day! You don’t even have to touch up, trust me I have put it to the test 3 times and same result so I am impressed.

As I said a tutorial is coming but in the mean time if you can at least get your hands on the l’Oréal well do it , you won’t regret it. Even if the Nars color is not available anymore just pair it with a nice brick color in the crease (with a pink undertone) and of course keep your eyes as bright as you can so no eyeliner or dark color and only one or two coat of mascara. Oh and play with a nice bronzer, highlighter and shimmery blush. That is how I imagine the make up look of a mermaid. Yes I am crazy, but I totally assume it!
